THIS LONDON EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL ESPORTS STUDENTS AT STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY

 On the 20th January 2020, the Digital Institute London will like to extend a warm invitation to attend a presentation from an industry heavyweight - Mark "Garvey" Candella

 The event will take place at the London campus, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Here East, London E20 3BS

 The students will be taken to London by coach, leaving Staffordshire University at 06:30 and leaving the London campus at 17:00 by coach to Staffordshire University. 

 We only have 47 seats available on the coach and booking for this trip will be a £10 deposit and non-refundable.  Booking will close for the London trip on Friday 17th January 2020.

The campus has availability for students to have lunch and a kitchen is also available.

 The day will kick off with the arrival of students at 10:00 am and activities will run between 11 – 5 pm.

 The day will be a mix of tech demonstration in the arena, Q&A with Garvey and a chance to work on a live project preparing for the first Esports festival to be held on campus.

The Twitch Student program was founded in early 2015 to foster sustainability and increase professionalism in esports by investing in education and students. They have a strong focus on education in Emerging, New and Digital Media through the medium of esports and gaming. This is a global program that works with national tournament organisers, student bodies, educational institutions and industry leaders to help ensure that Community, Competition and Careers are nurtured and supported in high schools and universities to create a brighter future for everyone.

 Garvey currently leads the Twitch Student program and has dedicated himself to creating gaming and esports opportunities for students and universities around the world. From humble beginnings as a Magic the Gathering professional player in 1993 and an avid pen and paper role-player prior to that, he has been involved in the esports industry in various ways ever since. His message of inclusiveness, diversity, and collaboration is a personal philosophy deeply ingrained in every project he works on.
